villain has $900 or so and I cover. I haven't been opening as much as I normally do, possibly because I'm watching Platoon on tv.

Villain open limps UTG+1, I raise to $25 with 77, villain calls.

flop is 4 6 9r, check, i bet $35, he calls.

turn 7, check, bet $93, calls.

river (4 6 9)7 5. he leads $1 more than the pot.

Bah, bad river, but you still gotta call. Only need to be ahead 33% of time. Often enough (50% maybe? ) hell have weird 2 pair, a lower set, or air. Call and dont be pissed to see a straight.

An 8 or 3 doesn't make a ton of sense for him here. Call.

im guessing 98s or something like that, possibly 78s but less likely due to that all 7s would be out. hard to call or lay down, i say flip a coin

Of course he lost this one, but I think two pair or air is more than 33% likely. 98, 87, 88 are the only ones that really make sense, and a lot of players won't limp UTG+1 with 98 or 87.

If this full NL 600 at party and full of weak tighties just learning poker/art of the bluff, etc, I insta-call.

If's its a looser player, i may give him straight, unless he views me as the weak tightie wholl fold to every scare card river bet.

for a pot size bet it's almost an automatic call...he could easily be betting two pair. He easily could have missed whatever he was drawing to and with that board, he figures to try and bluff.
obviously 9/8 is a possibility...but you only have to be right 33% of the time to make the call profitable.

I think someone else asked if this was a full table or not. It was.

I held off as long as I cared to, hope you won some money. I ended up folding and he showed me 88. Maybe I should've flipped a coin. Most players at this level have the nizzles when they bet the pot or more on the river though. I'm not convinced either action is better yet, however.

Calling this against 'good' loose players just gives them odds to to play any thing against you.

I was drunk last night and I don't believe I looked at the results, I might of but believe me it didn't factor into my post... but go ahead and make a comment with no merit... just because. Thanks
