What do u use to track your bankroll?

Was curious if anyone used anything besides pencil and paper to track there sessions stats as they relate to bankroll.

I use StatKing to track all of my online and live play. However, there's no reason Excel (or the Open Office spreadsheet) can't be used to calculate the exact same data.

I like StatKing just because it lets me slice/dice the data without having to write any code in Excel. However, it lacks the flexibility of Excel.

Conjelco distributes StatKing. I think it's about $30.

I use an Excel spreadsheet.

I track daily balances for each site I play at plus Neteller. I have a calculation field to total these (thus giving me my total bankroll) and another to show the difference from yesterday's total.

I also have a "Notes" column where I will write down what I played (e.g., "NL25" or "2/4 HE" or "$11SNG") and any comments ("played too passively/chased too much", "played well but had bad luck", "maniac put me on tilt", "wasn't feeling well, shouldn't have played", "went out on bubble with 77 v. JJ; should have been more patient").

I set up Excel to plot the daily totals on a line graph so I can see longer term trends. If I primarily played 1 limit I would probably track this in terms of "big bets", but since I play so many different levels/games I track it in dollars.

It is very convenient and only takes a minute or two to update each day. However, lately I've been thinking that tracking in this much detail makes me focus too much on short term swings and I've been considering only updating totals weekly instead of daily (although I would still do the "notes" daily).

Yeah, I am currently in the process of putting one together. So far, i've included the following field from left to right:

Contribution, beg. balance, ending balance, daily PnL, withdrawal, daily performance (%) and YTD performance (%).

Thanks for the advice on adding notes, that's a good idea.

With respect, I think you have this exactly backwards. If you only play at one limit, tracking $/100h vs. BB/100h would be roughly equivalent. But because you play at so many differnet limits, in order to keep track of your correct BB/100h you should also be tracking BB and not just $.

Yes, you are correct.

What I really meant was "I don't feel like doing the extra work required to track BB so I only track $$ on my Excel spreadsheet". (Also, I don't track hours on my Excel spreadsheet, which anyone who wants to get good $$/hr or BB/hr estimates should do.)

I do, however, also use pokertracker which provides me with some good BB and hourly data (although it's not compatible with all of the sites I play at and I don't always remember/bother to get handhistories at UB so my pokertracker database only has about 60-70% of my hands -- which is still very very useful).

I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my bankroll. Its purpose is mainly to record my daily sessions and to monitor overall bankroll. I used to also use it to calculate BB/hr (I didn't multi at the time, so there wasn't THAT much difference between my online and live play). Since I started multi-tabling and using PT, however, that function has largely gone away (I still sometimes do a calculation on BB/hr for my live play).
