Borgata this week/weekend

My wife and I are considering hopping on the first NY to AC bus tomorrow andheading over to the Borg for the day and returning in the evening. I know there will be a bunch of 2+2ers there for the day or the weekend.

I suspect with the tourneys it will be fairly zooish. My question is for those of you already out there (or who are geting there later today and can report back). How crowded is the card room? I don't want to make the five hour round trip to get in 2-3 hours of poker because of long waits. While I can play a little higher to avoid waits my wife needs the $3/6 table.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Someone here said you can call the Borgata poker room and get your name on the list in advance... even if you aren't staying in the hotel.

Is this true? And if so, what's the number because I can't find it on the website.

Seems like this would change lots of things...

Recently moved up to 10/20, why?

I hold a grudge against the Taj because a dealer yelled at me once. Plus the chips make me feel like I'm gonna get Malaria.

And the Borgata is just nicer to look at anyways.

Why did the dealer yell at you, I think the 10/20 at the taj is pretty soft all of the time, I do like the Borgata, but I get more from the taj because Ive been playing there for a while. Weekends the 10/20 at the borg are the best, but during the week, try the taj

An alternate is Harrah's at the Marina. Since the poker room has been remodeled its pretty nice, it is not as crowded and is usually a soft game. They also have SNG's but the rake is heavy.

I guess we will be OK if we get there by 10 or 10:30.

heh it's not a very interesting story... basically I was spacing out and didn't push my bet in close enough to her. She asked me once to push them in, I didn't respond, then she yells at me to push them in and caps it off with a "God-dammit" and rolls her eyes. It wasn't a big deal, but dealer attitude is just a pet peeve of mine; they're supposed to be there to make it more fun, not worse. I know it's not an easy job, but it IS their job, and I'm really appreciative of the ones who do it well.

It wasnt a "donkpost"....the guy was asking how crowded it would be and I just said play at the taj or trop because it wont be nearly as crowded, I was at taj yesterday and it was very manageable whereas the borgata was a fun factory

You have no clue what games he wants to play or if he's staying at Borgata and needs to play in order to earn the poker rate on his room or any number of other factors. You just assumed that poker is poker, there are other rooms.

EDIT: Hmm, apparently "he" was "me," so I'll add the fact that the games I want to play won't be going at other rooms because they'll only go at Borgata this weekend. So it was a donkpost.

It seems to me that making a suggestion in this forum, while policed by such a high authority in the poker kingdom, like yourself, is a twoplustwo nono. I should only hope in further posts that I examine all aspects of the OP in order to suggest a more in depth response. They don't allow that anymore, unless you are staying in the hotel. And on a weekend like this, I would assume a bit of "social engineering" won't help.

I have had two dealers from Borgata yell at me. Last week the three 10/20 games were very tight. One way could tell because only one person left the three games in an hour. If I make it to AC, I will not even bother with Borgata. I don't like the Taj either, but I don't have all day/night to wait around to play.

Especially if you are playing low limits, go somewhere else besides Borgata.

But during the summer they couldn't fill existing 10/20 games in on a Saturday night. I suspect it was because of the WSOP. Even two weeks ago it wasn't too busy.
