I encounter these situations all too often - the turn is a potential draw completing card. Is this too aggressive?

You need to look at the likelihood of the draw compared to the liklihood of the other draws.

Here, Q9 and JT are the only hands that have improved, while any spades have not. JQ has just run into trouble.
If you were beaten before, you are still beaten... nothing you can do about that.

Since it is more likely that the draw will be spades than the hands mentioned (and we have a shot against JT anyway) your play seems fine to me.

There are also now many many other draws lying around. You can't afford to give freebies at this point.
