I would've bet less on the flop and folded to the large raise.
You have 2nd pair and are drawing to the non-nut flush. I expect the large flop raise to mean that he has top pair at the very least and assume that I'm beat. Assuming you need the flush to win, you aren't getting pot odds to call his large raise.

On the turn, you push your last 400 chips into a 1000 chip pot. You don't have much FE there. The pot is soooo big. Lots of people would call that with any piece of the board. I assume your push was to make him fold and not for value (at least I hope so). You'll have a really hard time doing so with such a big pot.

I think that the problems started with your large flop bet. The size of the pot got too large too quickly. What do you think of betting 1/3 or 1/2 pot on the flop as a semi-bluff? It committs far less of your stack. That's probably the line I would've taken.

Anyway, glad you got lucky and took some fish's money. I really didn't like how the hand was played though.
