Heading your way for 4 days tomorrow. I'll be bouncing around between the 4, 6 and 9 holdem tables. Tall, thin with a University of Illinios cap, and a huge freaking mountain of chips in front of me.

Give us a report on your trip I haven't been over there in a while but might be taking a ride that way fairly soon.

I know I'm not ready for these California games.


If mike l. could watch me play, he almost certainly would laugh non-stop as those California maniacs run all over me by capping pre-flop with T7o and I'm folding my AQo.

You'll need your "huge freakin mountain of chips" just to survive the rakes! Don't even bother with the 4 or the 6, they are dropping $5 in these games! (actually they don't even spread a 4-8 as far as i know). It ends up eating up so much of your earn that it becomes a pittance. Anyway best of luck to you when you come down this way. Remember though that people aren't going to be folding when you reraise with K7s! :-)

I'd rather pay the $5 for a $200+ avg pot in their 6 than the $3 I pay at the Mirage for a $60 pot.

Yes, it's true, they are spreading a 4-8 game. I've never played in it, though, so I can't comment as to the rake...I know that the 3-6 game has a $4 rake (well, $3 rake and $1 jackpot drop, I think)....


I'll likely be in the 9-18 game. I'll be the guy berating people who berate other players /images/smile.gif.


Good luck....remember that different hands do well in multiway pots vs. shorthanded pots...that's the only advice I got fer ya!!
