Are the blinds high enough at this point where this is an insta-call?

I insta-call against an unknown. He faces 25% of his stack in the BB next hand.

What did you do? What range do you put UTG on?

I think his range could be as wide as Q8+, K7+, Ax, 22+

Even thinking he had a really wide pushing rangem still wasn't sure of the right move as people had been folding their blinds fairly easily.

You should seriously consider buying Eastbay's SGA program, it will help you to no end in understanding these situations and will easily pay for itself. If you don't want to buy it, at least play with the ICM a little bit because situations like these really just come down to 5 minutes worth of number-plugging in and the range you put your opponent on.

I think that developing your intuitive understanding by playing with the math is pretty much the only way to progress past a certain point in these games. Certain decisions need to be automatic.

Honestly, I'm worried I'll never be able to figure it out, like PokerTracker. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's really quite easy to use, and comes with a tutorial. If you can play a SNG you'll be able to figure out that program, I'd say.

My ROI jumped about ten points when I started using eastbay's tool. It just helped me get a good sense of what a good push is.

I call this maybe 40% of the time, depending on how frisky I'm feeling. I only err on the side of caution because I generally hate showing down a weak ace.
