View Full Version : Split Pot Rules - How to determine?

09-14-2005, 05:28 PM
Tried the search to no avail. Can someone direct me to a post or a rules site that has split pot rules? I am confused as how kickers are used if there are 5 cards used on the board. Basically need to know how split pot are determined.

I know its a basic question but I haven't been able to find a simple answer for this question.

Thanks in advance.

Tremendous first post.

Let me introduce you to this great site. It's called Google (http://www.google.com). Heard of it?

The 4th or 5th listing produced this: The answer to your question (http://casinogambling.about.com/od/poker/a/splitpot.htm).

You're welcome.

Your first post may have been NC (No content), but your 2nd post detected the arrogance of the poster above you. It would have been nice if you Googled, but it would have been even better if he had make a kind reply. At least you used the forum search, that is a VERY good start. Good luck at the tables!

Tried the search function on this site with no luck as I posted in the ist post. Just thought it was kind of a smarta$$ response for an answer. Tried alot of different poker sites trying to find an explanation, google was a no brainer but it totally slipped my mind as I was focused on the poker sites.

His cards must be running bad so I will chalk it up to that.

Next time I will try to be more through before I post a question.

If the 5 board cards are used, how/why do you think a kicker comes into play? The rules clearly state that 5 cards make up the hand. No ifs, ands or buts.

I found this interesting...

Not if you have a straight with an A kicker.

I refer you to David77's remark. I believe it's applicable.
