I know someone who claims to be a big winner in 10/20 6max with 43/15/2.3 stats. Can one win with such numbers? I know there is more to it than this, but gimme your GUT reaction.

Small winner long term. Could be a moderate winner short term. Gut reaction is his win rate is under 60K hands and above 2.

i swear those are like his exact stats, so my answer is yes, if TBE can do it, your friend probably can too.

My gut says he probably believes that he is a winning player, but is making the mistake of equating short-term success with winning play.

I think the reason that TAG is so preferable to LAG is that TAG works against the majority of opponents while LAG does not. Weak passive tighties can be long term winners, LAG's can be long term winners, maniacs could even be long term winners, but again I think TAG is obviously the best style because it works against most opponents and is a proven way of playing.
