I've been playing 4 tables from the $25 to $200 buyin levels and have now moved up to $400. Time to move down the number of tables and get better reads or can I continue 4-tabling?

How many tables do you higher stakes players play and at which stakes?

I appreciate any input, thanks.

4 is my max, tho I think 3 might be more profitable, but its close.

Thx Heimdal, seems that 4 tables is manageable even at the higher stakes.

Ho do you link to another thread like you did? Sometimes know of threads that will be useful to the OP but not sure how to get the link from favourites to my post...

Where do you keep all your favourite URLs?

I just have my favourite posts and if I want to put a link in a post (like this), I open the post I want to link to, copy it and use URL so I don't get horizontal scroll

Typically 2 tables at the most. Sometimes 3 if I'm probing for good tables/juicy players.

I would decrease # of tables at a higher limit until you get a general feel for the way it plays and have some kind of read on most at the table.

Ditto.

When I had to rebuild my roll, I was 4-tabling NL100 then 3-tabling the 200's. When I got comfy, I 4-tabled them until I moved up to NL400.

At NL400, I started 3-tabling then eventually 4-tabling them which is where I've been for 50k+ hands and 5.5 PTbb/100.

On the flip side of that, When I jumped to NL1000 I started 4-tabling almost right away and got ruined...too much too soon.

So yes, 4+ tabling high(er) limits can be done as long as you gradually add more tables. Master 2 tables FIRST then add another. Master 3 tables FIRST then add another.

playing 8-tables of 6max is a cakewalk imo for 5/10 to 10/20. If you get higher stakes than that, people become somewhat competent, and 4 tables is plenty.

I started playing 4 tables back when 1/2 was my main game, I believe. Every time I jumped up a level, I went straight to 4 tables of the higher limit. I can't play more than 4 though, because splitting my eyes between two monitors is too hard for me and I lose track of what's going on.
