View Full Version : Attachment to big pocket pairs--a leak?

09-13-2005, 09:10 PM
Sorry if this is basic stuff, but I'm trying to get the fundamentals down for 10+1s. Both of these examples involve big pocket pairs. No real reads on either villain.

Hand 1 - Did I size my re-raise PF correctly? What do I do post-flop?

Hand 2 - Does the multiway action (although shortie is all-in) affect my decision? How should I think about stack size here? I was multitabling so I couldn't recall how villain got his big stack, but I didn't remember any ridiculous showdowns.

1st hand... the reraise pf looks good, i would consider letting it go on the flop though

2nd hand... looks good

Your reraise preflop with KK was way to weak, fold it when an ace flops most of the time.
I would do the same in the second, you cant help it if he pushes with AK and you call with QQ and he hits an A or K. You just have to deal with it.

in hand 1 you're likely beat with the ace hitting. the reason is because he bet into you, only 200, which is nearly 1/3 of his remaining chips. if he was worried about that ace, he'd check it to you, then make his decision if you bet it.
