SB in this hand is pretty good, and I think his range is widish. Button is tight/passive preflop, loose/passive post flop, likes to overplay top pair; I think his limp is more a sign of weakness than trapping. If I call he is guaranteed to call too, push is another story.

Edit: I looked back at the HH and fixed the description of Button.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (3 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter (http://www.pokerhand.org)

Button (t7350)
SB (t1615)
Hero (t4535)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
Button calls t200, SB raises to t600, Hero ????

"...BB is tight/passive" - time to man-up dooooooooron!! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Eh...if you had the notion you thought your hand could stand up to SB's, I'd raise it to t1200. Might be enough for big-stack to step aside for SB's push back -- allowing you to dump if Button pushes over you.

BUT...I'd just assume dump it. If SB has the goods, I'd just assume Button double him up. Calling sucks. Button could push over the top for starters. If he does just call, there isn't a flop out there that you're going to like (short of trip'n 8's). 3-way, SB will likely push any flop. Even w/ an Ace on board, it's possible you could be in trouble - with either Button or SB holding a stronger Ace.

I vote fold. If you want to play it, raise to t1200 - fold to a Button push.

how does a tight passive player accumulate 60% of the chips in play at a pstars sng?

I definitely do think it could stand up to SBs range.

I like this line of thinking.

If button folds, sb is pot committed if he plays.

I think folding is a little better that betting 1200.

It might be a leak for me, but I drop this instantly.

Biggie limps, and shortie says "I have a hand". Let the biggie play back at him.

Why even consider getting in the middle of it with 22x the BB? Are you in a hurry or something? IS YOUR MAMMY CALLING YOU FOR DINNER?
