flew in to Las vegas and stayed at the Luxor. I had to play 5 hours of poker per day at the Luxor to qualify for the poker rate on the hotel room. In hindsight, I should have played somewhere else and just paid for the room but the MRS wanted to stay in the Pyramid so that is where we stayed. ( the sideways motion of the inclinators feels really weird.)
a short time playing $100 NL then the rest of the 5 hours playing $4-8, up $146. On to the Excalbur for 3 1/2 hours of $2-6. Met Dr Al Shoonmaker, super nice guy! Up $39.75
9-6-05
5 hours of $50 NL at the Luxor up $118. then I headed for the Adladin. 3 hours of $3-6, down $66. Bellagio is next where I only got to play about 1 1/2 hours before the MRS and Debbie returned from the Hoover Dam. Started at $4-8, then called to $8-16, up $170.
Headed for Bally's played 5 hours 15 minutes of $100 NL, down $300.
9-7-05
luxor 10 AM until 12:30 PM $2-4 down $40. After lunch I went to sleep for a few hours and then finished my 5 hours playing $4-8 until it broke and then $2-4, up $55.
Back to Bally's where I dropped $162 playing $100 NL.
SIDE NOTE: the NL game where I usually play, plays way to big for me and although I suck at NL, I wanted to get some experience playing NL.
I headed for the Wynn and played $4-8 for 3 1/2 hours, up $139.
9-8-05
I play terribly for 5 hours at the Luxor, down $44 $50 NL until called to a $2-4 game where I proceeded to drop $109.

Sedona, Arizona is one of my favorite places in the world. not that I have been everywhere in the world but so far it rates pretty high. We spent the day in Sedona and then went to Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde. Cliff Castle is small and appears to be catering to locals. It has a Johnny Rockets burger joint, an arcade and a bowling alley. The poker room has seven tables and the competition is soft. I played 4 1/2 hours of $3-6 up $68
9-11-05
The next morning I played two hands of Omaha before getting called to $3-6.
Steamboatin's Omaha adventure;
I had never played Omaha before so I decided to sit in a $4-8 game until I got called to play $3-6 holdem. the table was full of older guys and this was clearly their regular game so I understood that I was a serious underdog at this table but I was on vacation so what the Hell!
When I signed up for $3-6 holdem, they offered me a seat at the 4-8 Omaha game and I declined and said that I had never played Omaha and naturally all the players at the Omaha table said, "Come on, we will teach you play!" that was an offer that I couldn't refuse. I bought $100 worth of $2 chips and I said, "I'll take $100 worth of Omaha lessons." as I sat down. I only played two hands before getting called to the $3-6 game. the first hand I flopped a gut shot straight draw and folded on the turn. The next hand i get KK and I forget the other two cards. I raise and get six callers. The flop is K99. Checked to me and I bet, with three callers. Blank, checked to me, I bet, get one caller, then the #10 seat raises, I reraise, limper folds and #10 reraises and I cap. (I am sure he made a flush on the turn but it might have been a smaller full house.) The river is a blank, #10 bets, I raise ALL In and get called. Kings full of Nines is good. They call me for the $3-6 holdem and I bail.
About two hours of $3-6 later I am up a total of $187 and it is time to leave for the Grand Canyon.
We spend a little time at the Grand Canyon, stop and eat at the trading post in Cameron then continue on to Bryce Canyon.
FOr The Record;
Cottonwood rd off of 89 to Cannonville looks like a good idea on the map but it is about sixty miles of washboard dirt road/goat path that probably shouldn't be driven on in anything less than a Hummer.
We stayed at Bryce Trail Bed & breakfast and I highly recommend staying there.

Bryce Canyon is great and we head back to Las Vegas. I plan to play all night at the Wynn and sleep on the plane. I end up getting mad at the floor and going to bed but that is well covered in another post.
9-12-05
get up early to catch the plane and arrive at the airport just in time to learn we have a five hour delay.
Party Poker until my notebook's battery dies up $14.
