View Full Version : Call with QQ on the button?

An $11 ten person SnG, and there are six people left. I have the second biggest stack, and I am on the button with QQ.

Hero (2200)
SB (3000)
BB (950)

Blinds (50/100)

It fold around to me, and I raise to 300. SB, who seems to be a decent player, raises to 600. The BB goes all in without hesistation. Do I smooth call, push, or fold? Folding right here is not an option, right? Is my goal here to see a flop or to isolate myself with the BB? The BB has gone all in pf at least a half dozen times in the past twenty hands.

looks like a push to me

yeah, absolutely a push. you want to isolate against this LAG and take his charity before anyone else does... although inevitably whenever I get the chance to do so... its the one time the guy has something. But regardless you're commited to calling BB's all in, and you lose mucho EV if big stack calls.

oh, and outta curiosity, he raised you with A9s and sucked out, right?

No, the SB was holding KK, 5 rags came and I was out. I am still not positive that I should have pushed. But I cannot see calling or folding either. I don't know if I push next time. The out of position small re-raise from a not terrible player should have screamed AA/KK/AKs to me, making the push more quesitonable.

Today I pushed 2 very similar hands with QQ and was showed JJ twice and once 6,7 came along for the ride also for some reason and luckily I hit my Q cause he hit 2 7's. Anyway theres tons of fish at the $11's and wont always have AA,KK,AK.

The SB minraise can send off warning bells.

I still push QQ here, though.

if he's a push bot, you call his all-in; you are getting 2.15:1 on you're money too.
