I had quad Ks snapped off by a 9-K diamond straight flush.

Too bad I wasn't on a BB Jackpot table!

One time I flopped TPTK and lost when some fish made a flush on the river. I don't even know what he was doing in there, he should ahve known I had a hand.

So, you had 4 K's, and he had the fifth?

09-13-2005, 12:39 AM
Losing with pocket aces to a straight when the other guy was holding pocket 2s. I raised pre-flop, flop, and the turn, and the guy was drawing to an INSIDE STRAIGHT!!! ARGH. He hit the 5 on the river to complete his 2-6 straight. I was able to check on the river (after he checked) and save some $ seeing the 4 cards to a straight on the board. Not as bad as the quad kings, but that guy blatantly misplayed the hand from beginning to end.

Worst beat I've ever encountered was definitely picking up a deck of playing cards at age 4. I've been circling the drain ever since.

My worst beat?

I had a quality open ended straight draw once with 5 to a flush on board. I didn't hit my straight and some moron had one of the suits on board. I didn't think there were any left since there were so many out there.

Oh well. Poker is full of bad beats like that, I guess.

Onaflag..........

PS. Is this the new Test thread from Theory?

the same obscenely dominated hand beat the same exact far superior hand TWICE in one night - and the same nitwit did it to the same [solid] player in both instances. The game was NL holdem with 2&5 blinds. Both pots were in the $300 range.

QQ vs. Q2/off

Both times QQ flopped a set . . . the irony being that if it were not for the Queen on the board QQ would have won both hands as not even the imbecilic holder of Q2 would have called without flopping a pair or a [real] draw.

Both of the hands saw the deuce become the only card used - once to fill a straight and once a flush; obviously both were back-door hands.

How hard do you think the dog belonging to QQ & QQ would have been kicked if there was one to kick ?

- Fortunately, Dad is alergic so he doesn't own a dog.

YIKES !

I once went all in preflop with pocket 8's and got called by T9s and lost.

It was so gay.

I land an Ace high flush on the turn, I go all-in and get called by someone on a gut-shot straight-flush draw. He hits it on the river. I bust out.

He had 1 f'in out!

(I'm still not over it completely)

2/5 Holdem a few years ago in the casino. I turned over my 9 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif10 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif, revealing the nut straight flush. New-ish player shakes his head in disgust and flashes his 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif at me before flinging them into the muck. The bad beat jackpot was around $13,000. That's about as bad a beat as I've ever had.

One time I had a pair of 6s and got called by AK. Can you believe my luck that he flopped an ace? Oh the humanity...

Fine. I'll give a real answer, b/c i'm [censored] bored

Short stacked, on the bubble of a MTT,

Hero is the SB w/ AKs

One caller, Hero raises, BB folds, caller calls

Flop: AAK

Hero checks, Caller moves All In, Hero Calls

Caller shows 66

Turn: 6
River: 6

I wasn't the one who got a bad beat, but I do remember playing low limit NL online and on the turn I just hit the nut straight draw (the nuts at the time), and was still drawing to a gutshot-royal-flush draw, turns out I hit the J of hearts on the turn giving me the Royal with A/10 and one guy went all in on me... I just sat there making him sweat about his hand... 3 seconds left on the timer I click "call" and to my surprise he was holding the 9 of hearts, giving himself as well the K-9 straight flush... good thing for that kid that it was low stakes lol..all he said when he flashed his cards was "omg" while everyone else at the table said "wow, I never seen one of them" lol..

So I'm playing a MTT on Pokerstars. I'm up to about 5,000 chips and am in the top 20 for chips. I'm dealt AK one raise behind, I call on the button. Flop comes KKQ. Raises and calls down to the river. On the river the guy bets 400 leaving him with 700 remaining, just as I'm preparing to click call, my wife comes into the room, bumps into the pizza box on the desk, the pizza box skids across the desk into my cup of Ice Cold Coca-Cola, which becomes a projectile headed straight for my crotch. In a blind panic I jump to my feet, drenched in icy cold refreshment, then the timer sounds on pokerstars letting me know I'm running out of time. I quickly hit reraise all-in, which is promptly called. The guy turns off QQ for a boat. I'm drenched in coke with half as many chips.
