Breaking even sucks, but there are a whole lot of people that are losing a lot to support the rest of us.

Me, I profit about the amount I could make stealing candy from a baby.

Only about 200 babies, so there is a lot of variance however i do feel like its sustainable and the other day i was able to steal a king size snickers.

If you're gonna post a suicide thread, then at least post the numbers so we can really laugh at you! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you break even for a year, you can be pretty certain that you arent a winning player (assuming that you have played a reasonable amount of games). The reason I broke even over the period of two months was due to me playing above my bankroll.

im down 30 buyins after almost 500 games at the 55s. its not so much the buyin drop that kills me but the fact that its lasted so long.

i sorta wish i was dead

dude, you need to drop down/take a few days off/something, continuing to play will only make you feel worse about yourself.

Feh. I'm a winning player and I'm down over the last month. Chances are, you actually kick ass. You've gotta feed those fishies.

I don't keep stats anymore. But I would guess its about 200 SNGs and 20 MTTs. No big deal....just venting and wasting time.

I play such low buy-ins that I am not used to just getting by. Kind of a snob that way.

Thx for the outreach.

EDIT: Probably more than 200...I play roughly 100 a week, so 400 is more like it...wow, now I really feel bad. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

OK, foul.

For f's sake everybody knows that you are not allowed to complain about running badly if you don't keep track of your results. Especially if you can't even be sure within a 100% error how many games you've played.

The only worthwhile part of keeping stats is to be able to tell precise bad-run stories. Come on.

It would be much easier to see where you were going wrong if you did. Do you keep the hand histories? Maybe Poker Tracker would be useful.

dude get sng tracker

so long as you've been using the same computer it will instantly give you all the stats from recent play

i had a 650 game breakeven streak.

i tried to look at pokertracker to see where i went wrong. but i had no idea what stats to look for /images/graemlins/frown.gif

i just went back to old school, and re-played games and compared that to the games where i was winning.

09-13-2005, 09:58 AM
After comparing did you find you were playing differently and if so how?

meh...200 games, 400 games...tomato..tomahto. I count like a gorilla, "1, 2, 3, many..." -I have played "many" SNGs this past month...+/- a bit

Why? I dont understand? I have it (bought it a long time ago) but dont have it installed anymore. I don't see how keeping stats on my ROI and ITM helps my play. I continually examine my game and I am sure it always needs improving, but I need to do that in an efficient way. PT is not efficient imo.

Anyway guys, I am really bitching over nothing here...I am sure I will have worse droughts than this one. Just felt like venting. I had begun to become dependent on poker income and whereas before, breaking even meant nothing to me, now it seems like a loss.

I agree...my post sucked. But MTT variance was not my concern...being barely above 0 in low-limit SNGs over a month was my concern.

I promise to never whine again.
