Ipod battery dead`

I have a 20 gig ipod, im gonna purchase a nano tommorow, but im very nitty about such things and wanna get the battery on my original ipod fixed..i dont think its still under warranty..i bought it 18 months ago, whats the best way to go about it.

18 months is about how long the Ipod batterys are supposed to last. I think its like 70 bucks for a replacement.
