Clarence Gatemouth Brown is dead at the age of 82. For those that were fortunate enough to see this tremendous performer live you know that this is a huge loss.
He was one of the most versatile, skilled and exciting musicians that ever commanded a stage. Reading the news of his death brought back memories from a show in the mid 1980's in a small bar in Baltimore. Gatemouth was so comfortable playing many different styles of music that his show was like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. You never knew which direction he would take. But you always knew that you could trust him to never take a wrong turn.
He will be missed.
