building a chip lead then posting away...

i've noticed several times that some players will gain a chip lead then go away until the end...

... to have their blinds stolen mercilessly.

surely there can't be any point in this... or is there?

If they always lose because they call off all of their chips without mercy, it may be the better of two -EV options
