I do think the point of comics is too be funny, not be political...but I don't take too much offense to this...

Maybe the guy has a lot of ties to the area and he wanted to do some sort of a salute...hopefully it's a one time shot though, and not something that starts as a running theme - that would be something different than the strip is supposed to be in the first place.

I think I get it. They said they've been to Louisiana but they're characters in a comic strip. Characters in a comic strip aren't real!! They can't go places!! Brilliant.

It's about as funny as any other "Foxtrot" I've read. That strip makes Arlo and Janis look like Groucho and Chico.

I'll jump in with a quick comic strip rant, as well...does Johnny Hart have to make every other B.C. strip about his faith? Great, you're Christian. Christ died for our sins. While very noble, that's just not very funny.

That's funny... my wife and I also went to NO after we were married, but somehow I remember walking Bourbon Street alone since she got so sick (and very nearly resembled psycho, though she doesn't remember it) on hurricanes the night before that she couldn't stand to open the drapes.

Alive and wonderful... yeah... It's not like the French Quarter (the most likely tourist place) was that affected.

Not really a punchline, but I think they're just saying don't forget how beautiful New Orleans once was? Or something.

Don't pretend you made the first one, you're not the only one who reads PostSecret. It was posted about on here a while ago and I've been reading it ever since, so awesome.

Mr. Elinoff: Oh! yeah... That's a rather clever jab at inter office politics don't you think.

Elaine: Ahan, Ahan....yeah...Euh but, Why is it that the, that the animals enjoy reading the email?

Mr. Elinoff: Well Miss Benes . Cartoons are like gossamer and one doesn't dissect gossamer. heh..hemm..

Elaine; Well you don't have to dissect if you can just tell me. Why this is suppose to be funny?

Mr. Elinoff: Ha! It's merely a commentary on contemporary morals. (slides the magazine to her)

Elaine: But, what is the comment. (she slides the magazine back to him)

Mr. Elinoff: It's a slice of life.

Elaine: No it isn't.

Mr. Elinoff: Pun?

Elaine: I don,t think so.

Mr Elinoff: Vorshtein?

Elaine: That's not a word.....You have no idea what this means do you?

Mr Elinoff: No.

Elaine: Then why did you print it.

Mr. Elinoff: I liked the kitty.

"FoxTrot" is by far the best comic in syndication right now and it has been ever since "far side" and "calvin and hobbes" left. Not sure what you think is better.

This is like saying dog [censored] tastes better than cat [censored] and then asking what kind of [censored] you would prefer to dog [censored]. The comics these days are all crap, save Dilbert.

I was confused, too, until I found this on the author's FAQ page:
