problem connecting to the internet

I just reformatted my computer and when I plugged in my ethernet it would not connect to the internet. I contacted the internet people and he said that I needed to setup my network card but he could not walk me through that. Does anyone have any ideas on what I need to do?

Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard
