I must add that the fact that this forum is so generally pissed off, makes it the best on the internet. Do you see why?

A few years back I used to frequent a forum called HHI (Hip Hop Infinity), it was a site that sold indie rap records that you couldnt really get anywhere else and had different forums for all the internet emcees and turntablists and producers, I used to sell beats on there and talk to other DJs.

The site was pretty paralell to this actually, there were the older guns that everyone respected in each field, some solidly talented and eager to learn middle level guys, and a bunch of guys who would just hang around to gossip and talk sht (think WPT, NVG). I remember there being just as much angsty little comments and remarks to straight up flaming on there, I think off the top of my head the IGN forums were kinda like that too, I've only glanced at them a few times a while back though.

It's the internet, it's a place where people can purge their mental anus's and dump out all the anger and other crap they got goin on without worrying about looking like an ass cuz they're protected. Poker can be a stressful activity which doesn't help I'm sure.

I think I made it quite clear in that forum that my only objection was to the use of the word "sip," which is stupid.

I think most of the hay on that topic was made due to many posters' fanatic germaphobia.

Finally, I don't see any reason why I, or anyone else, should behave any differently on the Internet than we would in real life.
