Villian is very loose and pretty aggro. We have been playing together for a while.

Ick. Given your plan for the turn, that's $40 to win ~$650; you could tell him you have QQ and he'd be correct to call with a gutshot draw.

He was not CRing with a draw. I had played with him for 3 hours.

I'm fairly certain he's got AQ here based on the flop action. Maybe bottom set or an overplayed AK. AA is possible as well, but would he play it so fast on flop? doubt it.

If you do 3-bet the flop, the raise HAS to be much bigger. Make it 120-150, then turn plays itself; well it did anyway.

If he has KJ... punch yourself in the nuts for not making a bigger flop raise.

What kind of monkey tries to check (min) raise the flop - but gets reraised...then leads the turn for 3/4 pot?? A moron does...or a smart monkey with KJ

I was only two tabling and had a tons of hands in context with him. He was a moron monkey. KJ was completely out of the question. His hand range for me was AQ, AK, AJ, AT. I pushed because his two pair instacall and I thought he would talk himself into a call with a pair+gutshot.

You're in position and he's drawing insanely slim. Why not just call the turn and then make sure it gets all in on the river? It is possible that he finds a fold on the turn when you 3-bet his check raise on the flop and then push over his pot bet on the turn. He is almost guaranteed to have AQ or 44 here. Why give him any chance to get off it? Just use position and call the turn. No way he check/folds the river.

His range was wider and I didn't want to give him a free draw to a gutshot.

He let his clock run down and then said A9, nice bet /images/graemlins/confused.gif

So if he didn't have a draw doesn't that make your minimal raise worse?

I wouldn't mind giving him the shot at the gutshot if it guarantees stacking him.
