Raise pf, bet flop, be happy that SB's donkraise allowed you to get some money in with the best hand.

Agreed.

I played that atrociously. A diamond on the river and he's moving in on me though. :-/

No content? Good, then I guess this is the place for bitching.

Party $1/$2. A couple of limpers to me in MP w/ 55, I call, another limp, LP raises to $13. EP limper calls, I call, others fold.

Flop: J /images/graemlins/heart.gif J /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Check, check, preflop raiser open-pushes for $180. Player in EP calls $180. Wow. I repush (about an extra $10), EP calls.

Turn: K /images/graemlins/spade.gif
River: K /images/graemlins/heart.gif

EP had QQ, preflop raiser shows AK and takes down my $600 pot.

Me: "I just threw something really hard."

True story.

That's pretty unnerving. Sorry man.

That's much nicer. 5-handed, I like to raise or fold A7o before the flop.

In both of the hands you posted, I'd push the rivers. It's only(!) about 2.5x pot; your loose-passive opponents are not folding their straights/flushes/underboats nohow, and the overbet might be taken as a steal and called with all sorts of junk.

The SB in the first hand took about 20 seconds to finally call, I doubt a push would have been called by him. The second hand, a push was definitely being called as BB didn't even realize the full had gotten there as he was blinded by the Royal Flush draw.

I usually keep my mouse button firmly planted over the bet pot button at UB though, as I'm sure you can see.

I'm not sure you can draw that conclusion. A bet that pot-commits you without going all-in shows a lot of strength; it says that you aren't looking for fold equity, and you aren't afraid of a check-raise. If I were SB in that spot, I'm more afraid of that pot-sized bet than I am of a push.

It occurred to me that open-pushing hand #1 may be a great idea. You know he's got the straight-- and he's not getting away from it.

Even if you did limp PF with the AJs (akward, but not horrible).... the flop check?!!?!?!? WHY!?

Nice river.

Nice river.

Thanks.

As bad as this sounds, I'm normally limping big aces cause I've found that people have a hard time letting go of weaker aces when one does flop. I did get really lucky on that AJ hand though.

Your flop check was beyond terrible.
