Why didn't you just wait until I have children and ask which one I love more?

Then it would be an easier choice

FWIW, I go for Coming to America

It's Trading Places by a landslide. Coming to America is funny, Trading Places is great (not necessarily because of Eddie but still).

OMG, I was ready to throw something during that game. It was fun to watch, but frustrating none the less. 87 yard TD? Learn how to tackle.

I went Trading Places. I love that movie.

Coming to America may have MORE funny lines, but the lines in Trading Places are, on average, funnier....

-"You know the rules of the exchange, all accounts to be settled at the end of the day's trading, without exception.."

-"You know perfectly well we dont have 394 million dollars in CASH!!!"

Niether one of these movies is special. Considering how good a talent Eddie Murphy was, it's amazing he didn't make many good movies.

-You must be out of your goddamn mind-Joe Louis the greatest boxer ever lived. I'll be with you boys in a minute.
He was better than Cassius Clay, he better than Sugar Ray he better than-who that. The new boy-Mike Tyson. look like a bulldog. He better than him too. He whup Mike Tyson's ass-he whup all they ass.

-What about Rocky Marciano?

-Oh There they go. Everytime I start talking about boxing a white person gotta pull Rocky Marciano out they ass. That's they one. Rocky Marciano, Rocky Marciano. Let me tell you something once and for all: Rocky Marciano was good, but compared to Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano ain't [censored].

-He whupped Joe Louis's ass

-That's right he did whup Joe Louis ass

-Joe Louis was 75 years old when they fought!

-I don't know how old he was but he got his ass whupped

-Joe Louis had come out of retirement to fight Rocky Marciano. The man was seventy six years old. Joe Louis always lied about his age. He lied about his age all the time. One time Frank Sinatra come inside here and sat down in this chair and I said, "Frank you hang out with Joe Louis. Just btween me and you how old is Joe Louis?" You know what Frank told me? He said, "Hey, Joe Louis 137 years old" A Hundred and Thirty-Seven years old.

-Oh man, you ain't never meet no Frank Sinatra.

-[censored] you, [censored] you and [censored] you. Who's next?

Louis Winthorpe III: Nenge? Nenge Mboko? It is me, Lionel Joseph!
Billy Ray Valentine: Lionel! From the African Education Conference!
Louis Winthorpe III: Yah, mon, I was Director of Cultural Activities at the Haile Selassie Pavilion.
Billy Ray Valentine: I remember the pavilion - we had big fun there!
Both: Boo-boo yah, boo-boo yah, boo-boo yah, hah! Boo-boo yah, boo-boo yah, boo-boo yah, hah!
Billy Ray Valentine: Oh, memories!

It's turning out to be as close as I thought it would be. Trading Places is classic, but Eddie played so many [censored] funny roles in Coming to America...

Once ya have a man with no legs, you'll never go back.

vs.

Sexual Chocolate

Tough, but I go with Trading Places. You obviously cannot beat the supporting cast in comparison.

On a side note, Coming To America is probably the only thing worth while that Arsenio has done in his life and Eddie basically had to carry him in it.

I'm not a huge fan of either movie, but clearly Trading places is the superior movie, if for no other reeason than Jamie Lee Curtis' breastesses.

That said, there isn't a single laugh in either movie that can hold a candle to the scene in Bowfinger where Eddie Murphy has to run across the busy freeway...twice.

Now THAT was hysterical.
