a str8 flush beating a str8 flush with both cards playing?

the reason im asking is because the super JP at the room i play is up over $250,000. i think it would need to be signifigantly higher to call just any suited connector.

usually i ignore the JP size, but this one got me a little curious.

id be suprised if it was better than 250,000 to 1 or even close

I don't have your math question answered, but when you make a SF, are you thinking about the jackpot or about the chips inthe center of the table? When I have a hand like that, all I am thinking is getting the most bets from the most people, you play preflop because you think you have a fair chance to make the best hand or the best bluff and win the pot, winning the "lottery" is a bonus and cannot be counted on to happen.

i am by no means a 'JP' player. my posting history will show that. my first concern and 2nd is the chips in the pot.

what im wondering is, at what point does one make an adjustment based on the size of the JP. which is why all's i need is the odds of it happening.

Great question

Perhaps a post in the probability forum would get an answer?

(then post the results here please as I usually don't read that forum)
