Unreal season. Great offensively and awesome defensively. Plus he carried a team full of rookies. (The Braves had like the 2nd or 3rd most starts by a rookie in MLB.) I can't see voting for anyone else for MVP.

[/ QUOTE ]Thats what I am using, and I am sticking to it. This is the last thing I am saying as all these baseball stat discusions are total stat nit fest.

It's the number of runs a player contributes above a "replacment" player," which is a baseline representing something like 26.5% bloe average. It is adjusted for position and park, but does not take defense into account.

VORP is probably the closest thing to a "magic number" out there that's readily available.

Every year, Gammons says "This is Andruw Jones's year." For five years I've listened and gotten burned. Finally, finally, Andruw helps my fantasy team. Hallelujah.

Maybe next year Kris Benson makes good.

Two more bombs today to give him 49 to move past Aaron for Braves season record.

Andrew Jones is hitting .222 with runners in scoring position. Hardly stats for a league MVP. Albert Pujols should be MVP. Here is a link to a good article regarding national league MVP: NL MVP article (http://forums.stltoday.com/viewtopic.php?t=288459)

Thank you,

what about WARP3, which apparently takes defense into consideration?
