Unreal season. Great offensively and awesome defensively. Plus he carried a team full of rookies. (The Braves had like the 2nd or 3rd most starts by a rookie in MLB.) I can't see voting for anyone else for MVP.

It's the number of runs a player contributes above a "replacment" player," which is a baseline representing something like 26.5% bloe average. It is adjusted for position and park, but does not take defense into account.

VORP is probably the closest thing to a "magic number" out there that's readily available.

Every year, Gammons says "This is Andruw Jones's year." For five years I've listened and gotten burned. Finally, finally, Andruw helps my fantasy team. Hallelujah.

Maybe next year Kris Benson makes good.
