I just received another email from Jeff at PokerStars support. PokerStars have revised their TOS, and according to the new TOS any use of StarSpy is forbidden. Here is the email:
http://members.cox.net/starspy/new_tos.txt
At their request I am discontinuing distribution and support of StarSpy effective immediately.
It was fun while it lasted /images/graemlins/frown.gif
Best of luck to everyone, and thank you all for your support in this project!
Jay
this is unfortunate to say the least

May I be the one to ask the obvious Q: beyond being in violation of Stars' T+C, is there anything preventing us from continuing to use Starspy at our own risk? Stars hasn't actually changed their software to prevent its use, have they?

i would assume that the program will still work. and it'll def be an at ur own risk thing.
side thought: PA just brought back the IHH use for stats, would this fall under the same category and be banned?

wait, if starspy is gone, that means pokeredge must be gone too. i remember that it was in the same kind of limbo that starspy was in, if not a little worse.

I don't what, if any, measure(s) PokerStars have taken or will take to prevent the use of StarSpy.

I can't personally confirm or deny that with any degree of certainty. It would be best to seek clarification directly from PokerStars support.

I don't see why it should / would -- if you read Stars' definition of "unfair advantage", it only seems to prohibit programs that collect player info from games that the player's not actually in -- I don't see why that would prohibit the simple use of the IHH window to display stats on observed tables -- it's not COLLECTING any stats.

To clear things up, if PokerStars makes it known that they don't like PA Hud using the IHH window, I will be removing that functionality from future versions.
