Lately I've been struggling with how to play the middle pairs in later levels when I have approx. 10BB stack. Here's an example:

Party $33
Total number of players : 7
Seat 1: Feekee (855)
Seat 4: MoeBuster (405)
Seat 5: Buryfc (1320)
Seat 6: DWS545 (1505)
Seat 7: DevinLake (1240)
Seat 8: mikehen (1240)
Seat 9: Bluff_Bluff_ (1435)
MoeBuster posts small blind (50)
Buryfc posts big blind (100)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to DevinLake [ Jh, Jc ]
DWS545 folds.
DevinLake ????

In this scenario, I've gotten all my chips from pushing (2 or 3 times) to steal blinds (starting pushing at about t750). I'm afraid pushing will still most likely just get me the blinds, however raising 3xBB here will leave me with little options post flop and maybe a real difficult decision. Thoughts?

Limp. If you flop undercards/not too scary board, get ready to go to war. If someone raises preflop, depending on your read, push.

I muck or push with your stack of 12.x bb. I hate getting raised and being out of position, by pushing you'll negate any positional disadvantages which you have and make a tough decision for people with any hand.

I 3x here. push with any less. Limping is not an option

limping and folding are terrible. I mean if you just want to watch the game thats just fine, but I like to play poker, and when I am given jacks at this stage of the game you have to be beyond weak tight to fold them. This makes my stomach cringe at the thought.

I 3x it and push over any re-raise or call any push.

Raise 275 or push - either is absolutely fine.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like my play is pretty standard.

Here's what happened:
DevinLake raises (1240) to 1240
DevinLake is all-In.
mikehen folds.
Bluff_Bluff_ folds.
Feekee folds.
MoeBuster folds.
Buryfc folds.
DevinLake balance 1390, bet 1240, collected 1390, net +150

Both limping and folding here are horrible.

I don't really think there's a huge difference between raising to 300 or pushing PF, since I can't imagine folding to a push except against maybe the tightest of all rocks.

How anyone could fold PF here is beyond me.

Either someone has a strong hand behind you or they don't. If they don't, you'll win the blinds. If they do, you're likely going to be all-in PF.

Pushing here with 12 BBs is fine.

I think there is a difference between raising to 300 and going all in (even assuming you will call someones all in reraise preflop).

The difference to me is by raising to 275-300 you may induce a low pocket pair to go over the top preflop who may have folded otherwise.

with 12.5 BB here I raise it to 275 and play postflop if I get a caller, or call an all in if reraised preflop.

Folding is criminal, anyone who suggested it should have their posting rights suspended for 30 days.
