View Full Version : Make me a sandwich

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) it has to be from Subway. The few times I've had food there it's been my standard Italian-type sub and they always [censored] it up beyond belief.
The one thing is I won't eat any mayo.
What do you recommend? Or is Subway so bad that anything else is better?

Subway is so bad that anything else is better
Subway > Taco Bell.
I get an oven roasted chicken breast on monteray cheddar bread. Toppings include lettuce, tomato, black olives, jalepenos and Chipotle Southwest sauce.
Throw in some macadamia nut cookies too.

No, man, do Quiznos. Subway is like secondhand toilet paper.

Sub Club on whatever specialty bread you like best, with provolone and: lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper, salt, pepper, oregano, oil and vinegar.

the quizno's black angus sub is pretty decent. though you end up having that taste in your mouth all day.
but since you are talking subway, i usually just go with their standard club. throw on some lettuce, spicy mustard, pickles, and banana peppers and you are set. that is my standard there.
however i had their low-carb hot wrap turkey/bacon cheddar thing and it was pretty good as well. pretty small and not filling though.

Their "oven roasted chicken breast" is horrid. I avoid Subway at all costs.

The hot pastrami sandwhich is really fatty and just really low quality.
That being said, it's [censored] good with mustard and pickles and cheese.

This is something that I have discovered in the past year or so, but no one else seems to do (or at least, they don't talk about it if they do).
I take some of that cheese, garlic texas toast and put it in the oven. About halfway through or so, I put some deli ham or turkey on top of it. After it's baked, I put some spicy mustard on it and chow down.
It's really good, but then again, I like lots of greasy, fat, cheesy, rich food.

Get a BLT from basically anywhere (I would suggest skipping subway).
Tomatoes are in season right now, and bacon is always in season.

Point is how can anybody claim that Subway is good, when in any town in America, you can find a deli or sandwich shop less than 5 minutes away from there that will do it better. Thats all. Not trying to be a wiseass.

I went with:
Oven-roasted chicken breast
Italian roll
Lettuce
Tomato
Onions
Sweet Peppers
Green Peppers
Oil/Vinegar
The suggestions in this thread sound good though. Perhaps next time. Thanks.
