View Full Version : "Official" Live at the Bike thread (9/8)

Tonight's show probably will be a $200 min/max game, a far cry from last night's "Whale Game" of 300/600 limit. Hopefully that show (and last week's game) will be in the archives soon, as there seems to be quite an interest in both games, especially with Barry Greenstein providing excellent commentary. As usual, head over to www.liveatthebike.com (http://www.liveatthebike.com) to view the webcast.

Isn't that what everyone with AA wants to have happen to them with a board like that?

These must be some great lights, they only make Bart look pale.

Kevmath

I made a post in the high-limit holdem section letting them know of the 300/600 game last night, and there were some comments that some of the players would NOT be playing the way they did last night if they weren't being broadcast. Do you think that's true?

POKERBLUE UPDATE:

The Pokertropolis bots also inhabit the Pokerblue software. No way I was playing against humans today.

Kevmath

Russ McGinley

No, but here is one hand in question (as best as I can recreate it)

Pokerblue $1/$2

Hero is on the button with JJ
UTG limps, 3 folds, MP3 limps, 1 fold, Hero raises, SB calls, BB 3-bets, UTG calls, MP3 calls, Hero caps, all call.

Flop: 5-5-2

Checked to hero who bets. ALL VILLAINS CALL.

Turn: 7

Checked to hero who bets. ALL VILLAINS CALL.

River: 7

SB bets, ALL VILLAINS CALL to hero who laughingly overcalls.

SB shows 97o
BB shows AA
UTG shows KQ
MP3 shows J9

I think I'm around 2 hours.

So, Mike checks the turn with two pair after TELLING Seat 2 "I have to call, I have you beat" on the flop...

Hmm...

So, basically, he's thinking "I have you beat, but I'm not going to try to put any money in the pot"

Ok, I think I get it.

Been playing Pokertropolis also. If they are bots they are some of the most predictable bots ever. Take advantage of it. Also on every freakin' pokertropolis table there is some guy(maybe a bot) who keeps on typing in "sweet" and nothing else, it's just bothersome.

Shirley, I was kinda joking, but Noah and Marcel Luske and a few other apparentlyplay out of Marcel's office with 4 accounts on Stars they share. Lee Jones on Stars addressed this fact and said in their opinion there is no problem, though if they ever were on the same table it could be. Also, Noah I think admitted that sometimes they "take over" for each other when one has to go somewhere. My post is again a playful joke. Gank (Brett Jungblutt) lost his chat over complaints about those guys - someone correct me if I'm way off.

Bart, Shirley,

El capitano is rumored to be Marcel Luske. don't know how true that is.
There was a post a couple weeks ago that Marcel let Noah use his account, but it was just rumour as far as I could tell.

link to Stars letter to Gank - Brett was complaining about one of them taking over for the other guy. It does go against the one hand one player rule, but Stars admitted there is nothing they can do about that. Actually, in that case it was El Cap and Who is Next (another player sharing accounts)

I'm not ragging on you, Bart. Barry had something very important to tell you. Do you remember how he buttered you up before he said what he did? People only do that when they want to help you, but they are afraid they might give offense. Live poker is as much about getting into your opponent's head as it is about the cards, or playing correctly. When Barry was commentating, he almost NEVER said a play was bad. What he was always doing was figuring out what thought processes the players were going through. It is habitual with him.
