I was planning on buying another monitor today and the below threads prompted this poll.
I have 2 monitors hooked up now to a 17 inch Dell, CRT and an old 15 inch monitor, but I plan to upgrade. Which do you prefer and can you please provide a recommendation? I'm considering going with a 21 inch Sony CRT or a 2001, 21 inch Dell CRT over a 19 inch LCD. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

21" - bigger is better, cheaper too. LCD monitors are annoying - if you're not sitting right in front of it, it goes dark.

You should go for 1600x1200. If you can't afford the 21" LCDs, then go with the CRTs over the smaller LCDs. I've got two 21" Dell CRTs that work just fine, and were a hell of a lot cheaper than two 2001fps.

And do NOT buy a CRT "Flat" screen. Unless you like your graphics to become more condensed as it approaches the edge of the monitor... /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have the Dell Trinitron 21" Flat Screen and I don't notice any graphics condensing. For a CRT it is probably the best out there.

My 17" CRT does 1680x1090. Which is no overlap as long as you can live with two of the chatboxes being off the screen.

1680x1090 on a 17" CRT? /images/graemlins/shocked.gif My eyes hurt just thinking about that.
