View Full Version : Maxtor 100,200,300 GB. External Hard-drives

I've been nosing around BestBuy and Staples last few days for a good external hard-drive. I have almost 70 GB of datamined db's. On my curent pc my 134GB drive 82GB is used leaving only 52GB. PokerTracker and PSQL are 70GB. I want to back all this stuff up onto an external drive.

Thoughts on the best external drives? How are Maxtor external hard-drives? Any drives have back-up software that is much better than others? Any good deals online?

thnx in advance

Hey Railed:

I have a Maxtor 200GB external that I've started using in the last 6 weeks or so. I use Symantec LiveState Recovery to perform backups (have not had to restore yet). I find this to be quite a nice and usable solution.

I have not tried out the software with the drive (the Symantec software is not included). I was looking for a solution that would do both drive restores (for data restore) and bare metal restores (for entire system restore) from save points.
