I have gone back and forth on how to play JJ at the early levels from limping to betting. Lately I like betting, although since I was in early position, perhaps limping would have been better. Regardless, on the flop I suspect one person is drawing, and the other person does not likely have QQ-AA, or AK b/c there was no pf raise... so I must have the best hand... BUT IS IT WORTH FINDING OUT this early in the game? (Anyone who has read my posts before knows that I have tossed good cards before including QQ). But sometimes my "correct" reads get me into trouble and I have been told that sometimes I should throw away the winning hand b/c it is not worth the risk early on. What are your thoughts?

I think you played it fine - I doubt a set would push and you might see 77 to 1010 a lot of times.

I like your play and can't wait to play against the guy that flushed out. Limping is an option PF but you played the flop properly after you had bet. Is your avatar a real pic?

With an all-in raise and a call, I'd fold. Sure you can have the first guy beat, but probably not both. Maybe you don't put them on a higher pair, but eithe guy could easily have a set. As far as the last guys response about the playing the guy with the flushdraw, he also had a belly buster straight draw which makes him over 50% to win the hand after the flop.

If it was later in the tournament, I would call. But this early, I'd let it go. GL.

Throwing away the best hand is generally a bad thing. I certainly think that if you think you're going to be good on the end more than 33% of the time, you need to call, with the pot odds and such.

As for how often you have the best hand...

Flush draw with overs is very likely. Flush draws are likely. Underpairs of all shapes and sizes are really likely. If a 6 called preflop, you know they're coming in now, and same with 77-TT.
