Went camping with my buddy Bob and his buddy Ian over the long weekend. Bob picked me up at the airport on saturday afternoon. Next stop was the grocery store for supplies (food, beer, whiskey for the basecamp). After picking up Ian we headed for the trailhead and camped out. This was in grizzly country so we brought a guard dog.

This guy looked kind of mean but turns out he wouldn't hurt a flea. kind of a [censored] for brains dog too but we love him anyways.
Got a late start on Sunday morning for the 6 mile hike into Granite Lake. We got to the camp site and were greeted with a view of A Mountain.

To celebrate we cracked open the bottle of Jameson.
After a few hours of fishing our next task was to start a fire.

But we didn't have a hatchet to break up the larger fuel so we had to improvise. Here's Bob chopping wood.

On Monday we planned to climb one of the mountains surrounding the lake. Not too far after this pic was taken we got cliffed out and had to retreat after ~3000ft vertical gain. Talk about a lesson in futility.

We bushwhacked back to base camp and saddled up for the 6 mile return hike. Bob woke me up at 4:00am Tuesday morning to take me to the airport. I was back to work by 10:30. All in all a great trip.
