As long as Mike keeps busting and rebuying, never.

that hand that was the "sickest bluff", spirit rock was contemplating calling with K hi there, so it wasn't THAT amazing a bluff. He just got lucky that mahatma didn't go with his gut instinct and call with K hi...

MM: Online poker players are the worst poker players in the history of mankind. I play against really bad players who just give their money away. Guys put in $13,000, $14,000 when they can’t beat anything. Only online do you see that. That can never happen in a live game. I crush the no-limit online.

I gotta stop watching, its a train wreck. Mike has dropped $60,000. Thats like more than I make in a year.

Yeah, holy jesus. Mike is gone now and Spirit Rock is sitting there with $80,000 /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

It didn't end there. He lost about $45k to Poppychullo at UB playing HU Omaha 8/b.

Interesting to note. MM asked Poppychullo to send 30, then 20. Wanted him to pay Ivey or Barry. And when Poppychullo went to bed, MM said:

"send me 20 more"
"we at 2 right now"
"so I got someone to play"

Brunson = Poppy?

LOL. This is hilarious. I would like to see how much he lost to Hassan and Mahatma. I suspect it can be around half of big one already.

This is somewhat disheartening. I watched Matusow's interviews at cardplayer's coverage of the WSOP and I kinda liked the guy, his swagger an enthusiasm. I called my wife and had her watching the interview as well (she studied psychology, she hates poker and she hates me playing poker but accepts it). Her observations upon watching Matusow:

On surface: moves like an animal in the cage, eyes still full of adrenalin, lays it very thick that he is great all others are suckers etc...

Below surface: Fear of being a sucker, fear of going broke, fear of being nobody, obviously a compulsive gambler.

Showing her the interview was not a good idea... Since then I always tone it down a notch when speaking about poker.

dont think so only because poppychullo is a play on papa chullo, or pimp daddy in spanish.

i.e. soy el papa chullo - i am the pimp daddy.

that and que pahina is the extent of my spanish however.

Brunson does live in El Paso though, at least according to all the tournament reports.

I'm sure he had to pull off a few as well. Would add though that in the brief time I observed SpiritRock was also catching like crazy. One hand that comes to mind was on a 456 board with a flush draw out. Spirit moved all in and Matusoww called with JJ. Spirit flips over 44 for a set that held.

Seemed to me Spirit was more than willing to let Matusow take down the small pots and was generally holding the better hand at showdown in the larger ones.

Matasow almost never gets the best of Mahatma. I would speculate that Prahlad has taken the Mouth for at least 300K in the last few months playing heads-up and short at UB and FT.

Matasow is a disgusting human being imo...dont understand the fascination with a guy who busts every 3 months. This guy will die busted and destitute.

The similarities between Matusow and Ungar are striking. (including the cocaine addiction).

His talk of sports betting in the cardplayer article is what disturbed me the most. Having a bet riding on every game seems like bankroll suicide to me, but for him just like it was for ungar it was all about being in action.

Well, Joe Hachem and the rest of the final table "beat" more people in the 2005 WSOP than like... EVERYONE in all of their WSOP victories together. I guess that means they're the best players ever in the history of poker.
