View Full Version : WSOP entry fee. Who paid?

Does anyone know, or have a suggestion for finding, how many of this year's entries were paid for with the player's own money. I'm sure the number of entries won in tournaments online and around the country (if not the world) was enormous.

Pokerstars had something like 800 and party had something like 1100. Pokerroom had like 40-50. Fulltilt had like 100. And there were plenty from other sites as well, but nothing like party or stars.

Even with just those, a sizeable dent is put into how many people straight bought in.

I don't know about any of the other sites but Pokerstars had 1,116 entrants.

I don't know how many paid the full 10k, but Hachem and Dannenman did, and they went 1-2.

Damn, beaten. Was just going to say that.

On another note, is there any connection between high finishes and actual buyin? Or do the satellite players seem to do better than the others? Interesting question, to say the least.

I would be VERY interested in the hard data if they could list EVERY finish and list if they paid or won via satellite.

I would imagine, though, that those that paid did better overall than those via satellite, even without the aforementioned top finishers.
