NOPE.

OUT OF CURIOUSITY, WHAT RANGE OF HANDS DO YOU PUT VILLAIN(S) ON?

Freudian

No. Raise or call/raise on the turn.

Push. Really.

Looks like the flop raiser has a set to me. Thats a big reraise with the utg preflop raiser yet to act. The only other hand he could of played this way was aj but 22 88 j8 all seem to fit.

Why at least give me your analysis. What are you putting him on.

Is noboby fearing a set here thats a lot of action on a fairly harmless looking flop.

This is a 22 right? I wouldn't be surprised to see a flush draw or AJ or a smaller pocket pair.

A $22? I expect to see QJ, KJ, AJ all playing this flop as if they flopped the nuts.

You think they're playing J8? I doubt it. 88 or 22 are possible, but so aren't KK, QQ, AJ, KJ, two spades.

No folding AA here is complete rubbish

No I'm not fearing a set. Who has a set? I can think of a lot of hands that would play it like this and very few of them are sets. Actually, by the way the action has gone I would be suprised to see a set. Horrible fold, easy push. No analysis is really necessary.

09-06-2005, 09:24 PM
Easy push indeed. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sure, he could have a set, but the times you keep playing and he doesnt have a set more than make up the times you get busted. So keep playing your good hand.

It's good to ask questions like this and dont let any of the responses get you down. Keep asking and learning.

Well, I had to go to school. (ugh)

But, this is a really easy push. Your opponents are flipping over all sorts of pairs and flush draws here, and you're going to be good.

Any Jack and underpairs raise here, you're going to be good a lot of the time.

OP, if you were the flop raiser, and you had 88, let's say, how would you play this hand? Would you call or raise here? In general, what are your thoughts when your set hits? Assuming you hit your set, how happy are you that the SB already raises the pot before the initial preflop bettor, and what are you doing to maximize the chips into this pot?

Once you answer these questions I'm certain you'll see why over 90% of the time, your Aces are the best hand here, and should be very happy to move all your chips, in the center of the table with a very very big smile.

There is only one reason why I think AA should be folded preflop, and it is completely non poker related, and has happened to me once.

09-06-2005, 11:32 PM
OK...I give up...what is the reason?

Nicholasp27
09-06-2005, 11:47 PM
wow

jx will bet and raise that bet before u

axs will

kk will

qq will

aa will (so u split pot, at least u get half that dead money in pot)

even lower pps will do that figuring the players have ax, kx, qx or pp, but not jx

how many jx hands call a 3bb raise pf??

u cannot lay down aa here...sure sometimes u will lose the hand...that's poker and that's probability...but this is VERY VERY +EV to raise/push this, or even call it, instead of folding

you lost some money by folding, regardless of outcome

09-07-2005, 01:50 AM
two things that should be taken into account here are 1) the person could be reraising a set trying to drive out a flush draw and 2) sometimes people play big hands really stupid at this level. That being said, it is still a pushing hand. But I don't think its as solid as some people are making it to be.

oh, u are definitely scared when you call, as there MAY be a better hand out there...but u still call as in the long run it's +ev, and that's what poker is about (unless you are playing on too low of br and you are scared of not placing)

because I thought he must have AA too, and I dont want to get into a race in the early levels since I feel I am a better player and I can outplay them on the bubble.
