This doesn't belong in the other thread for reasons that will appear obvious as you read, so don't give me a hard time.

My league's rules, which you should be familiar with already (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/ramblings.php?p=2748&cat=1), are odd. The important parts for this post are as follows:

* We have very deep rosters.
* We activate 20 players, and that activation lasts for weeks 1 through 3.
* Each week, our highest performing PK and QB and our two highest performing RBs and WRs score points for us.

I'm already starting the following 18 players.
PK (3): Vinatieri, Nugent, T. Peterson
QB (4): Vick, Brady, Collins, Pennington
RB (5): Tiki, Rudi, KJones, CBrown, WParker
WR (6): Bennett, Boldin, Branch, DJackson, MJenkins, McCardell, SSmith

The other 9 I'm dividing up into two categories -- clear bench riders and possible starters.

On the Bench
Lawrence Tynes (because he may get cut, and I don't need four PKs), Trent Dilfer, Frank Gore, Chester Taylor, Chris Perry, Mark Bradley

The Bubble
Charles Rogers and Donte Stallworth

So, who do you activate? Is there anyone I'm activating that should be benched? Assuming not:

The Case for Charles -- He's really freaking talented and is arguably the best WR on a team that is going to have a lot of shootouts, including a potential one week 1.

The Case for Stallworth -- Rogers is on bye week 3 (assuming he's not on IR by then), and Stallworth finished strong last year.

So, you be the judge.

Start Rogers- As I see it the deciding factor to start players should be on whether they have huge-game potential, as hopefully middling 6-98-0 type performances will not be scoring for you. Rogers has that type of potential, especially in week one with the sorry state of my packers secondary, in what should be a shootout as you predict.

Yes, it does.

The # of fantasy football threads in this forum is absurd.

and the problem with that is what...

I realize if you're not into fantasy it is not interesting, but its on topic for the sports forum. Objecting to fantasy threads is akin to complaining about people who post the same repetitive preflop questions in ss/micro limit forums, except the fantasy questions are far more unique, currently relevant and interesting to a large segment of people who read this forum than the mundane strategy stuff in the limit forums.

a) You should have PMed me with this instead of hijacking.
b) You're wrong -- the other thread is for week one starts, and that's not the issue here.

Yes.

This very clearly does not belong in the other thread...

I'm starting to agree with Dynasty.

OK, so it's a 3 week decision instead of 1. The bottom line is, you're asking whether to start Charles Rogers or Donte Stallworth. Is that question really thread-worthy?

I'm not immune to starting threads like these myself, but do think the sheer number of them is starting to get a little bit out of hand.

And I'd start Rogers, I don't like the Saints right now with the likely mental grind of playing on the road, and worrying about their home city.

if my math is right, and you are starting 3Ks, 4Qs, 5Rs, and 6 Ws, then you can start both Rogers and Donte.

Your math is right -- but my counting is off. I listed 7 WRs and only counted 6. So I can only start one.

I think the better question is, should there be someone else I should bench (or start)? There are at least three other possibilities -- I could bench Parker, Pennington, or McCardell. But I'd need to be convinced that any of those were proper.
