i'm planning on putting up a dartboard in my basement, but i need to cover the walls (they're concrete - don't want to hurt the darts).

my plan was to use a big piece of plywood with a thrift-store rug on top behind the board.

anybody got any better ideas? fyi, the walls in the basement are not flat so part of the value of the board is that it'll help the board hang straight (i'll put some little pieces of wood between the board and walls).

Cover the board with cork.

go to your local harware store and get a sheet of styrofoam. cover it with wallpaper or old posters. hang the dart board in front of it.

How much do you want to spend?

not too much. it's just a $10 board in a dank basement with some 3/$10 darts. doesn't have to look good at all, but it should stay on the wall.

Have someone old hold the dart board, old people don't feel pain.

Is it a bristle board or a plastic board?

If bristle, this (http://www.poolndarts.com/index.cfm/fuseAction/Catalog.Product/productID/4044.cfm?CFID=670017&CFTOKEN=e281aca6323b0dbe-32C79DD3-D61C-4F06-B0D03F8E540976BC) is a decent cheap option.

I'd go with a bristle board and plastic tipped darts.

A friend put a large sheet of 3/4" corkboard between the concrete and the dartboard. I'm not sure how exactly he mounted it, but it actually looks nice and is very effective at saving wear and tear on the darts.

Cork tends to be the selection of choice over here either that or a nice cabinet a set over here with everything in is around $50 ish, but heres a selection that will appeal to some of you lot nice $90 premium for a sticker though.
