Watching right now. It's a show with panelists (psychologists, behavioral experts, etc) who try to detect whether people are lying. In the first part of the show they watched video clips of Nixon, Oliver North and OJ. In the second half they ask questions of a guy hooked up to a machine that detects pupil dilation, voice stress, sweat, polygraph, etc.

After the OJ clip, one of the panelists (Annie Duke) pointed out that OJ turned away after speaking just like an amateur poker player after making a bluff.

Mike Caro says that turning away makes you look weak, but means a strong bet and staring makes you look strong but means a weak bet.

Who is right about looking away based on poker related considerations (not on OJ)?

OJ trying to hide the truth by turning away and a poker player trying to induce a bet by turning away are two very different contexts. In the context of poker, especially 5 card draw, Caro is closer to being right.
