Cumbakid had been very tight and i figured he had a big time. Given how short Marinastr was i thought that calling and folding to a flop with a or k was a good idea. Was this the correct play?

I mean i want shorty to go out but if i push all in cumbakkid might fold and then i am headsup with a,k and dead money in the pot. Also if we both out i would still get 3rd.

I am wondering if others would play the hand, the way i did or if they would have pushed preflop.

I think you played this hand perfectly against a tight opponent.

you definately made the right play here, you really can't hope to be a huge favorite here, I guess AQ isn't completely out of the question, but you gotta figure its a coinflip at best. By just calling, obviously you aren't getting paid anymore if an A or a K comes if he is tight, but the post-flop play should be really straight forward (barring an AQx cold-decking). By just calling you give yourself a great shot at both knocking out the short stack, and adding some good chips going into overtime. However, you also leave yourself some chips to play if you miss as you did. all in all, flawless play imo
