I've seen many of the "standard" movies people often refer to or quote, but there're easily some gaps in my knowledge. That, combined with a nice new computer being delivered today with a fast dvd burner made the decision to sign up for netflix quite easy. Now, to fill my queue. This thread must have been done before, but only one i saw recent was the netflix vs blockbuster thread...so flaming piles of poo aside, recommendations? (just bought city of god and family guy season 3 this weekend, so those are taken care of)

edit - this is what I've received from netflix over the last year or so. Sometime when you're feeling patient I'd say just search for these on netflix, see if the description sounds promising, and if so add the movie to your queue. I like all of these movies.
