Chase is the biggest bank here.

Unless you actually visit your bank in person there is no reason to change.

Access to a large ATM network without fees is a pretty good reason to switch banks.

chase is the best option. they just added atms to every duane reade drug store, which are every two/three blocks. plus there is a branch every 10-20 blocks

bankone is the same as chase now, if you have those in denver

get an account at a credit union. They typically will reimburse you for any off-site ATM fees. When I closed my account at BofA, they wanted to know where i was going, I told them I was going to TinyHoleInTheWall Credit Union. They said, did you know that we have 9 bazillion trillion more ATM's than they do all over the world. When I told them that I could use any ATM in the universe w/out fee, they didn't really have a comeback.
Any credit union w/ a decent online banking system will be better for you.

Good suggestion. Now that Chase has acquired BankOne they're all over the place.

BofA, Chase, Citibank are the three I see a lot nationwide. All three of those exist all over the place in SF and NYC (BofA way more in Cali, Chase and Citi more in NYC).

One advantage Citi has over Chase is that most of the Citi ATMs give you 50s, while most of the Chase ones are 20s only.

$50s are bad luck.

If you have a BofA account just keep it. BofA is still miles ahead of Chase for online banking.

They were bought in the sense that they merged with First Union, kept the Wachovia name, and everyone senior in the new bank is ex-Wachovia.

Nah dude, Wachovia has been buying up all the competition.

First they bought First Union, then they moved on to pretty much all the others. Right now the big three down here are Wachovia, BofA, and Sun Trust. I loved First Union, can't believe they got bought out. Wachovia hasn't been bad though.

I've been able to use U.S. Bank in the 4 cities I've lived (Portland, Seattle, Columbus, Las Vegas)

I use Commerce Bank because they reimburse you for any ATM charges. Their online bill paying is great as well.
