Thats the Oregon Coast for all you Fox Dorks /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Here are some pics from a day trip I took to Ecola State Park out by Cannon Beach, OR.

On the way in the park, we saw some Elk http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/ThaSaltCracka/P1010084.jpg

Here is a view from the main viewpoint of Crescent Beach, you can see Haystack rock in the background:

maybe, I know the filmed Goonies in Astoria, which is about an hour north. They may have filmed some down here as well.

I recommend everyone come out here once and check out the entire Pacific coast. Its different and stunning in every state. I personally like the central OR coast the most.

This makes me long for the days when you had Kim Jong Il as your avatar

I think I'm going to Portland next summer so hopefully I'll get to check out the scenery.

yeah I may bring it back, it seems to be a fan favorite. What might bring you out here? There are a ton of nice places to see in Oregon and Washington.

My uncle lives in Portland and my mom is finally over her fear of flights so he's invited us out next summer. Hopefurry we'll get to see a lot of the cool things I can't get in MA (like the Pacific Ocean). It will be my first time west of the mississippi river too.

In June, I spent a week in some town in the desert doing some things.
Then I flew into Portland and spent a couple of days in the Willamette Valley. I'd never been to the Pacific Northwest before. What a beautiful juxtaposition - going from lights and action to such beauty and serenity. If you dig food, wine and nature, get yourself out to Oregon at some point in your life.
On my last day in the area, my companion and I drove out to the coast. No map, no plan. We ended up driving from Lincoln City to Golden Beach. Time disappeared.
Thanks for the pics. Such pleasant memories. I'm reminded that I promised myself I'd return to that glorious land sometime soon.

Despite being a fog-dweller in San Francisco for 6 years and having fished most of the big lakes in Oregon, I still do not get Oregon. It just always looks gray.

That said, I miss my backpack.
