Marching tomorrow in the parade in Toronto which goes into the Canadian National Exhibition. Then to the beer garden and to the casino to play some 5/10. Fight the power! One year the president of the union I worked for had to give the members ten bucks each to show up.
Here is a rendering of the first labor day parade in 1882 in New York when 20 000 marched.

Still pretty big in a lot of industrial towns. About 1/2 an hour out of Toronto is Hamilton, our "steel town", big union town and big labour day parade.
I'm sure I'll see you all out at your local marches, right comrades? right? right?
In Solidarity, Hamish.
