I dunno how similar they are, and I've only heard 2 of their songs, but Something Corporate are great. If you're looking to dl, the songs I like are called "Down" and "The Moon and Me"

songs: el caminos in the west, chartsngrafs, the group who couldnt say.

check amazon for track listings. all 3 albums are pretty solid all the way through.

the 2nd is kind of melancholy, but has a couple rockers on it.

i listened to sumday. good stuff. they remind me a lot of wilco. that said, i wasn't blown away...i think i'm looking for something that rocks a bit more, or sounds more edgy, if that makes any sense.

their new single rocks. you can get it at insound.com undertheir mp3 section. its called pull the cutains.

i'll try and think of some more stuff that rocks though.

Q and not U: We Heart our hive, a line in the sand, End The Washington Monument (Blinks) Goodnight, 9 things everybody knows

the album, No kill no beep beep is a rocker pretty much all the way through aside form like 3 songs. prett edgy. they're on dischord.

although now they broke up.

I'd recommend Spoon, specifically the 'Girls Can Tell', 'Gimme Fiction' and 'Kill The Moonlight' albums, I guess in that order. Honestly though, they each have their own great tracks, so it's hard to say one is much better than another.

Rye Coalition is alright. The singer gets on your nerves after awhile though.

smokingrobot
09-06-2005, 12:57 AM
i cant stand the singer for rye coalition. saw him open up for a bunch of bands in DC...

they're like a MC5 knockoff, mixed with some other stuff and a lot and not a good sense of song structure/melody etc.

SLEATER-KINNEY.

"One Beat" is the best, followed by "The Woods"

I'll second nominations for Spoon and Ted Leo, two of my favorite bands.

The Secret Machines are pretty good (Now Here is Nowehere is their LP)/

uhh... what hasn't been reccomended. Kings of Leon. Get both CDs.

Get anything by the Exploding Hearts.

Dismemberment Plan. "Emegerncy & I" and "Change" are classics.

If you have AIM, IM me at RonMexicoForMVP and I'll set you up, you can download anything you want from me.

I kinda associate them with Keep it Like a Secret by BTS, but yeah, I can see why not.

Anyway, Kings of Leon are really good indie pop with edge.

Highly Refined Pirates. Just go out and buy it. If you don't like it, I'll transfer you $13.95.

I have only made an offer like this before and that was to Jake for the Steak Quesedilla at Taco Bell.

(Just to let you know how serious I am)
