Hm...I was watching Under Seige 2 yesterday (don't ask) and Seagal's character is a chef. Watching the Rundown now, and The Rock's character is a chef. I think there's one more action movie where the hero is a chef (maybe I'm making it up). Are there any more and is there any reason for this?

Sonny Chiba in Kill Bill, Vol. 1
Geena Davis in The Long Kiss Goodnight

Probably it's an easy place to "hide" an unkillable fighting machine, because not only can he/she continue to use cutlery(a little too well), but also he/she can display a softer side.

He wasn't exactly the 'main' hero, but the Soap in 'Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels' was a chef... 'OY! Keep your fingers out of my soup!'

I think she was a housewife, just one who chopped vegetables like a killing machine.
