This may be a stupid question but that hasn't stopped me before. I'm coming to Vegas on Wednesday and staying at the Imperial Palace. Has Vegas had a SARS scare yet from world travelers and do you think the liklihood would be higher at the Imperial Palace as opposed to other hotels?

Thank you.

Ah, who cares about SARS. It only affects druggies and fags anyways.

Oh, [censored]. You mean this disease is different?

OK, seriously, I haven't heard of anything here.

Any disease using an acronym and CAPS scares me.

all large gambling places are scary for this. asians travel alot to the infected country areas and come back here and gamble in casinos. as well as other people. you are in close contact for long periods with these poeple. i suspect some will get s.a.r.s. while at casinos. lucky for most only a small % are dying. anyplace that geta a bunch of people from lots of different places is a trouble spot if the virus is really out of hand. time will tell. what do you want on your tombstone.

here lies john

he couldnt resist the game
so he went just the same

so now he is gone

There was a SARS case reported in Vegas within the past two weeks. I don't know anything more about it.

If that stops you from coming to Vegas, I suggest you just get it over with and board up the windows of your house now.

The percentage of people that die from SARS is less than 5%. You have little to worry about, for now. Check the Center for Disease Control if you want information, I am sure they have a website. You should ask a scientist, not a bunch of crazy poker players, about an important issue like this.

Not going to stop me from coming but might want to stay somewhere different.

I've been drinking the water here in Woburn, MA for years, that should tell you I'm not too worried about my health.

If my family writes the headstone, it will say "Told him, but he never listened to us."

If I write it, it will say "He couldn't risk the temptation to hit that elusive long shot and the quest killed him"

Why would the IP be higher risk? Are they having a convention of Chinese respiratory care nurses discussing how they hope thay haven't caught it? I have not done demographic studies or anything, but I have noticed Asians at all the casinos in Las Vegas. At higher-end places like Bellagio you are more likely to get people (of various races and nationalities) who travel more often in Asia and elsewhere, because they have more money and more reasons to travel on business. So why does a run-down place formerly owned by a guy from North Dakota who recently died and once hosted a Hitler celebration pose more risk? Surely not just the name??????
