God of War Difficulty Levels

Anyone have any idea how the difficulty levels scale for God of War? Haven't had any luck with the FAQs I've found online so far. (Looking to see what I'm in for when I go after the God difficulty)

Looking for something like -- damage is x0.5 that of Spartan level, damage received ix 2x that of Spartan level, or somesuch.

All I know is that when I tried God Level I died in 4 hits. That was on the first level so I quit.
